Summary

Job Description:

Responsible for planning, organizing, integrating, coordinating, and directing the activities of a broad range of technology and software development solutions. Responsible for leading new solutions and providing dramatically improved technology leadership and a business solutions focus to the organization. Provide services that will maximize line of business performance and improve operating margins for the company. Be a catalyst to drive change, providing more directed and cost-efficient services to the business. Responsible for the leadership and implementation of new business applications which leverage the technology resources of the company and ensure the delivery of competitive business solutions.

Individual will lead a talented team of software solution providers and ensure the solutions provided adhere to company best practices. This individual will work closely with product owners, product managers, enterprise architects, security, and technical delivery teams to create and manage solutions architecture to advance strategic initiatives. Hiring Requirements

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the project charter, project planning and risk management
  • Manages the Scrum ceremonies overseeing teams that may span multiple locations including offshore. Confers with and advises team on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods.
  • Makes recommendations on personnel actions (hiring, terminations, promotions, etc.).
  • Provide support of existing applications which includes managing and prioritizing break/fix and enhancement requests.
  • Align product team members with attainable goals and help clear any roadblocks to ensure successful project delivery
  • Partner with product owners and product managers to understand the project goals and help align the development team and the software around these goals
  • Ensure delivery of all tasks as agreed
  • Resolve any project conflicts within IT or across the entire product team
  • Support product owners and managers with communication to the stake holders
  • Ensure the continued growth, support, and well-being of the project team by keeping the team actively engaged
  • Ensure that technology becomes part of the corporate culture and fostering a "service excellence" philosophy through the adoption of methods and technical standards for all information technology related activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct management of the Software Engineers
  • Facilitate onboarding new managers
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities
  • Lead employees in creating a workplace environment aligned with our culture at Wheels and supports the Wheels Core Values
  • Maintain transparent communication with your staff, appropriately communicating organizational information through regular staff meetings and one-on-one meetings
  • Effectively manages timekeeping and payroll tools, conducts timely performance appraisals and assists all employees in meeting training and development goals, including any other management duties for all direct reports.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Certified Scrum Master
  • Strong leadership skills and comfortable presenting complex ideas to small and large groups in a clear and concise way. Candidate should be confident in their ability to influence and develop relationships with key partners
  • Must have at least 5 years previous experience in managing technical/solution architecture teams and delivering complex IT Projects
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with design and development of highly scalable systems
  • Deep understanding of software development methodologies, with hands on experience leading projects utilizing one or more Agile approaches
  • Broad technology experience including familiarity API, micro services, cloud data architecture, web & mobile development and event driven architectures
  • Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD
  • Understand the Security requirements and standards and contemporary trends in Security risks as well as technologies
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or another technical field
  • Industry experience within Fleet services is highly desirable. Successful business and technology leadership experience with an organization known for delivering world-class technology services.
