Our mission is to become the global standard for addressing. Street addresses weren’t designed for 2024. They aren’t accurate enough to specify building entrances, and they don’t exist for parks, rural areas and many parts of the world. This makes it hard to find places and causes problems and inefficiencies on a global scale.

That’s why we created what3words. We divided the world into 3m squares and gave each square a unique combination of three words. It’s the easiest way to find and share precise locations.

Over the last year, what3words has been used in 193 countries, and our monthly active users continue to grow at an impressive pace. Our tech is used by emergency services, delivery companies, eCommerce businesses, ride-hailing apps and NGOs, and is integrated into the navigation systems of millions of cars around the world.

The role

We are seeking a bright, ambitious and energetic People Advisor to join our awesome People team and help us deliver our ambitious plans. We're looking for a flexible, experienced generalist who’s as happy getting stuck into all the necessary People admin as they are in advising on employee relations issues. You will be the sole People person in our UB office and so you must be open, welcoming and friendly and comfortable with providing advice and guidance across a range of issues with the support from our London based People team. You will also help to coordinate the office management piece along with other members of the Ops team.

As the office and team grow, there will be real potential for you to develop within the role too. Excellent attention to detail, a proactive attitude and absolute discretion is an absolute must.

This is a busy, fast-paced role, combining amazing organisational skills and a problem-solving mindset. You must have a “can-do” flexible and accommodating attitude, a friendly disposition and will need to be comfortable rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck into everything.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owning the on-boarding process, including all pre-employment administration and delivering new joiner inductions (Time difference means you will not be able to conduct the Trinidad inductions).

  • Acting as the first point of contact for basic HR queries

  • Managing the benefits enrolment process and being the main contact for our benefit providers to include noting renewal dates and flagging these 5 months in advance to the rest of the HR team.

  • Coordinate performance management activities

  • Assist with payroll administration

  • Providing day to day generalist support to the local General Manager, Head of People, Director of Global Talent Acquisition and the wider People team

  • Supporting with the recruitment process to include arranging interviews and speaking to candidates

  • Office Management - keeping the office running smoothly

  • Adhoc projects and tasks e.g. supporting team week prep

What we’re looking for

  • Previous people experience: you know and understand the value a strong People function can bring

  • Impeccable accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to meet deadlines promptly and accurately

  • Be a brand ambassador and champion our shared values

  • Adept problem solver with a love for detail

  • A genuine desire to do a good job and give the best possible experience to our employees

  • Value collaboration and can quickly build rapport with colleagues and new joiners alike, having exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to deliver clear and concise messages

  • Highly organised, operational and a fast learner

Nice to have:

  • You're tech-savvy and know how to get the most out of G Suite and ideally familiar with Slack and Notion
