As a Senior Product Owner in our Client Delivery team you will define, prioritize, and evaluate the work based on Client requirements for new implementations, change requests and maintenance upgrades to optimize the business value delivered by the team. You will work with subject matter experts at our customers and within Vestmark to develop the user stories for product enhancements and oversee product enhancements throughout the development lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Participate in discovery alongside key stakeholders ensuring a significant understanding of requirements to share with the development team.
  • Partner with Products to understand new features
  • Coordinate, facilitate and/or conduct as needed demonstrations
  • Manage Change Request assignments with the team and ascertain priority and timing expectations with the client and Relationship Manager
  • Manage new client implementations, upgrades and maintenance releases
  • Work with internal/external client teams to document business requirements
  • Write internal/external user stories and acceptance criteria and conduct walkthroughs as needed
  • Refine user stories
  • Establish priorities, collaborating with client or internal relationship managers when needed
  • Prioritize interruptions against sprint work
  • Maintain backlog
  • Creating & Maintaining epics for projects
  • Owning the status of an epic and ensuring they are closed when work is complete
  • Strive to have 1-3 future sprints planned
  • Resolve impediments preventing the team from meeting sprint goals
  • Be available for ad hoc questions raised by the team
  • Testing on ad hoc basis as needed

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience: 5+ years experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst with knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • Must have knowledge and experience with VestmarkONE
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Financial industry knowledge, particularly in the areas of portfolio management, portfolio accounting, managed accounts, wealth management or trading operations
  • Familiarity with the data associated with the processing of securities, transactions, and positions of either retail or institutional portfolios
  • Experience with software delivery
  • Enterprise software company experience or experience in a professional services organization delivering enterprise software used by financial services organizations
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong and effective customer service skills
  • Bright with a high degree of initiative to learn and work collaboratively to solve problems
  • Do what it takes attitude, displaying positive energy even in challenging situations
  • Strong communication skills; able to respond and exchange ideas clearly and effectively through writing, speaking, and presentations; shares appropriate information to keep people informed
