Who We Are:
Technology has transformed the way we work, communicate, travel, eat, move, and more. Yet in biopharma, it still takes 12 years to develop a single drug. Even today, thousands of diseases affecting hundreds of millions of people have no effective treatment. Accelerating the pace of bringing effective, new medicines to patients is one of the greatest opportunities for humanity.
Our mission is to develop better drugs, faster using technology. We have built an end-to-end technology-driven drug discovery platform centered around one of the field’s largest human genomics databases in neuroscience. We use machine learning to map the complex causes of disease and turn those insights into promising drug candidates on our internal biology and chemistry platforms. We are developing drugs to treat some of the biggest medical challenges today: ALS, Parkinson’s Disease, and Alzheimer’s Disease.
We have raised $134M from top tier investors (e.g. BlackRock, Eli Lilly, Merck, Section 32, Threshold Ventures, Y Combinator, etc.). We are a team of engineers, neuroscientists, and drug developers united around an audacious vision: to build the next Genentech of the digital age.
Let’s transform patient lives, together.

You Will:

  • Lead the in-vitro pharmacology team, working across programs to enable characterization and screening of new compounds.
  • Develop and execute in vitro assays to validate compound activity using cell-free and cell-based models.
  • Perform cell cultures and mainteneance of cell lines to be used to evaluate small molecules in high and medium throughput assays.
  • Perform assays to enable chemistry SAR iterations.
  • Screen and test libraries of small molecules in both internal assays and with CROs.
  • Mange CRO relationships to support high-throughput screens.
  • Accurate and organized data entry, analysis, technical report writing, and presentation of experimental results to research groupsIdentification of best model / troubleshooting / leading projects.
  • Select and champion complex, yet robust in vitro model systems for target biology.
  • Manage a direct report to enable high and medium throughput screens to support all drug discovery programs.

You Have"

  • PhD + 8+ years (can include postdoc experience), in pharmacology, or related discipline (must have a minimum of 2+ years industry leading early discovery projects to IND, functional lead experience acceptable)
  • Proficient in experimental biological techniques such as immunoassays (ELISA, MSD, Luminex), qPCR, biochemical assays, enzyme kinetics, Western Blot, RNA extractions, etc.
  • Working knowledge of cell cultures, including mammalian cell culture
  • Compound screening experience
  • Experience with neuroscience is a plus
  • Developed novel complex model systems (didn't just purchase off the shelf)
  • Transcriptomics (RNA extractions, library prep), experience with NGS is a plus
