About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Data, the Analytics Engineer will lead our data infrastructure and strategy, ensuring our teams can access high-quality, actionable insights that drive growth and operational excellence.
In this role, you will be the architect of Thistle’s data model, spearheading the development of scalable data pipelines, optimizing data integrity, and fostering a data-driven culture across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional leaders - including marketing, product, engineering, and operations - to enable smarter, faster decision-making.

How You’ll Make a Difference
- Define, build, and maintain Thistle’s data architecture, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and performance.
- Empower teams across the company to make data-informed decisions by developing intuitive visualizations, reports, and self-service analytics tools.
- Architect, implement, and optimize workflows to ensure real-time access to critical business data.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify key metrics, establish data definitions, and create analytics solutions that drive business objectives.
- Monitor and optimize database performance through advanced query tuning, indexing, and infrastructure improvements.
- Work closely with marketing, operations, product, finance, and engineering teams to enhance data accessibility, uncover insights, and drive company-wide innovation.
Qualifications
Who You Are
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in analytics engineering, data architecture, or a related field.
- Bachelor's/Masters’s/PhD in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data transformation tools such as Airflow and dbt.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that fuel business strategy and growth.
- Deep experience in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud-based data warehouse design (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, actionable strategies.
