<p> <strong>Senior Site Reliability Engineer</strong> </p> <p> <span style="font-weight:400;">Thirty Madison is looking for an accomplished Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join our growing Site Reliability team! We partner with Engineers and Technologists under the company to understand and mitigate areas of risk that impact our patients care, providers ability to provide care and ability for the business to operate (resulting in a quiet on-call for everyone). We have a strong foundation and are in the first few months of building out an SRE Program, making this a perfect opportunity for someone who is passionate about building and scaling a culture, framework and program of SRE. Please note that the compensation range listed reflects the base salary only, and does not include incentive target, equity, or benefits.”</span> </em> </p> <p> <strong>What you get to do every day</strong> </p> <ul> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Partner with manager of SRE and other engineering leaders across the org, to design roadmap, processes, practices and frameworks that enable us to scale SRE against a rapidly growing business. This includes (but is not limited to) incident response, on call and post-mortems.</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Coordinate projects running across multiple teams or quarters that provably mitigate risk at a business level</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Manage, guide, mentor and grow engineers both on your team and across the organization in how to think, design and plan reliability into projects</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Build robust, scalable and availability patterns into the fabric of our ecosystem, tooling, frameworks and patterns to ensure that engineering teams are enabled to move fast without leaving reliability practices as an afterthought</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Partner with teams launching new products/features/services to establish reliability goals and consult on the design to prevent second-order reliability issues from the onset</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Act as an escalation layer for incidents, participate in on-call for the infrastructure layer and design/implement/consult on org-wide on-call program</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Debug and triage production issues across the stack in collaboration with other teams/individuals and follow through to generate lessons and prevent/mitigate future issues</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Design monitoring and alerting systems in partnership with teams/individuals to detect problems on symptoms, not outages</span></li> </ul> <p> <strong>What you bring to the role</strong> </p> <ul> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Experience building out on-call, incident management, post mortem, disaster recovery or tabletop exercises at previous organizations and scaled these across 50+ engineers.</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Comfort in using or developing SRE tactics, like SLAs or error budgets in order to drive business reliability in alignment with stakeholders</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Background in Software Engineering including programming and common architecture patterns</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Strength in modeling and reasoning about reliability risk across complex systems and translating those models into business impact</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Passion for collaborating across teams and functions to achieve a common goal</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Proficient in designing and building scalable, observable and robust systems within modern cloud environments (we use AWS and Kubernetes)</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Passionate about observability as a function of tracing, logging and metrics and turning data (we use DataDog) into tools to ensure reliable systems and fast response to complex incidents</span></li> <li style="font-weight:400;"><span style="font-weight:400;">Desire to take ownership of problems, act on them independently, discover collaborators and navigate organizational complexity, needed to drive the problem through to completion</span></li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"> <p><span style="font-weight:400;"><strong>Don’t meet every single requirement?</strong>Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification.
