The Opportunity
This position will be responsible for demand planning, manufacturing capacity analysis, and materials management ensuring efficient and effective delivery of Sunfolding products to customers. This includes creating and managing demand plans, analyzing inventory, open orders, and material lead times, and summarizing what-if analysis reports to the executive management team. Work and communicate cross-functionally all material planning and execution to project delivery schedules. Establish and utilize material requirements planning in Sunfolding’s ERP system and generate KPI dashboards, supplier scorecards, and supply chain material movement visibility.
This position will work with a range of people from sales and procurement to contract manufacturers and project delivery. This position will also support the development of efficient and effective management systems to cost-effectively create great customer experiences.
The Demand Planning and Materials Manager position will report to the Sunfolding Operations Team and simplify holistically materials management to deliver Sunfolding products and ensure customer projects are successful.
Responsibilities
- Create demand plans for forecasted and active projects.
- Provide short-term and long-term material flow plans.
- Generate multiple what-if analyses surrounding various probabilities of open opportunities and supply chain material availability and allocation.
- Optimize and minimize Sunfolding inventory without impacting target project delivery lead-times to new projects.
- Provide recommendations for Inventory levels that will support new projects, field service, and safety stock.
- Implement and Utilize Sunfolding ERP and MRP systems Implement capacity planning across a network of Sunfolding contract manufacturers.
- Work with Procurement to review demand plans and recommend material purchase clips that reduce purchasing prices with suppliers.
- Analyzes demand, supply, and shipment trends using statistical tools to identify opportunities, tradeoffs, impacts, and risks to revenue and business plan objectives.
- Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, quality, production, engineering, and logistics.
- Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity; create and maintains bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprise-wide systems.
- Capture supply chain best practices and present them internally and externally to improve future projects.

Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Project management, or similar.
- 5+ years of professional, managerial, and “hands-on” field-level experience.
- Strong supply chain management skills, CPSM certification a plus.
- Knowledge of various supply management methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, establish trust, and communicate effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organization and computer skills, including experience with modern productivity tools and the ability to transfer software experience between platforms.
- Experience with lean manufacturing.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher is a plus.
