Description

SHINE Technologies is seeking an NDE Coordinator to supports the Construction Manager, craft team members, and SHINE Engineering in planning work activities and solving construction planning and installation issues. The NDE Coordinator is a good fit for a hands-on construction-based and innovative person with a focus on mechanical, structural, welding and electrical scope elements, and able to interface and direct construction activities with installation Contractors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Acquire technical and construction knowledge of the production facility design, regulatory requirements, and project status, and translate this knowledge into plans, and other tools needed to drive the project to completion.
  • Perform visual verifications to confirm mechanical, structural, welding and/or electrical work scope completed in alignment with design, SHINE Construction Program, and Work Package specific requirements.
  • Complete process piping and structural steel weld maps for entire facility and revise as necessary throughout the life of project.
  • Populate programmatic weld tracking documentation and align with weld tracking database.
  • Maintain site welder qualification log.
  • Define, plan and execute all code required nondestructive testing with third party services.
  • Assist Lead Construction Planner with controlled document updates in the field.
  • Validate Contractor daily quantity installation reports.
  • Interface and collaborate with external stakeholders and vendors to advance SHINE project goals.
  • Assist Construction Manger in managing installation contracts supporting mechanical, structural, welding and/or electrical scope elements, as required.
  • Identify and track items adverse to quality and safety.
  • Work with and assist all divisions of the company to execute activities required to complete the production facility and establish commercial operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager.
Requirements
  • Two-year degree desired, but not required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a construction supervisor (foreman, general foreman, superintendent) on large capital projects.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a construction inspector.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in construction working with engineering, procurement, testing, work planning and work execution on site.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to take directions as well as think independently.
  • Ability to confirm installed quantities, review reports, correct productivity deficiencies as necessary.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction drawings, specifications, procedures, and government regulations.
  • Industry experience in construction or operations of nuclear facilities (Part 50 or 70) preferred.

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
