Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a substantially under-diagnosed condition that affects 37 million people in the US. Today, clinical and care management teams use our platform to identify the most at risk individuals and proactively deliver care in advance of adverse events, delivering better clinical outcomes at a lower cost. Our clients are risk-bearing healthcare enterprises: ACOs, large health systems, managed care and health insurance companies. Together, we use data science to deliver more human care.
The Role:
You will be part of the clinical domain expert panel of our pulseData team.
You will provide internal model validation using iterative medical chart reviews, generating insights, identifying data quality issues to equip our data science team with best clean data for deployment-ready models.
You will get to flex your strong technical skills and be the lead in this position.
You'll combine your clinical domain knowledge + data skills to generate useful insights from data.
You'll work with the data science and engineering team to solidify clinical data insights and and improve our phenotype library in our code base.
Requirements:
Be able to make sense of medical and clinical terminology and context, be able to review medical charts as needed.
Experience with data-oriented programming skills (Python, pandas, Apache Spark) is necessary.
You can understand data wrangling and have a track record of data experience including data visualization.
You have knowledge of standard classifications used in medical coding and billing schemes, such as ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, CCSR10, LOINC, RxNorm, SNOMED-CT, NDC
You have experience in medical language system such as UMLS
You have experience in data analysis of EHR data and/or claims data
You can effectively communicate clinical learnings with the rest of the team, contribute features, and write code, be all-around fun and helpful.
