About The Role

The Technical Lead Engineer - Back End will lead the architecture and development of the robust backend systems powering our privacy automation platform. This role involves overseeing the design and implementation of scalable services that handle complex data processing, integrate with multiple third-party APIs, and ensure the security and performance of our infrastructure.

We're building systems that process sensitive user data at scale, so deep experience with Node.js/TypeScript, NestJS, and cloud infrastructure is essential. You should be comfortable leading the design of resilient microservices, implementing secure API endpoints, and working with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications:

Requirements (5+ years experience):

• Strong proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS
• Experience with MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes
• Expertise in REST API design, unit testing (Jest), and GitHub workflows
• Strong understanding of security best practices and data privacy principles
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems
• Proven ability to lead and mentor backend engineering teams

Preferred (3+ years experience):

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Firebase/Firestore, Cloud Functions, Vertex AI
• Background in microservices architecture and event-driven systems
• Knowledge of performance optimization and monitoring tools

Sweeteners (1+ years experience):

• Experience with Machine Learning deployment, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GraphQL, WebSockets
• Background in privacy tech or security engineering
• Experience with automated testing and deployment strategies
