Job Summary

At Phase Four we are focused on delivering innovative propulsion solutions to meet the needs of tomorrow's satellite constellations. As a Phase Four Fluids Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, analyzing, and testing fluid systems for our Valkyrie and R&D product lines. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our cutting-edge propulsion systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on groundbreaking technology in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. This role requires the candidate to be on-site at our Hawthorne, CA, location.

Core Responsibilities:

Engineering support for the design and implementation of propellant delivery systems (i.e., pressure managment, pneumatics, flow rate control)
Work with high pressure component selection, integration, and implementation.
Work cross functionally across the entire engineering team as needed.
Perform related duties as required in support of company needs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aeospace, Fluid Dynamics or related field.
6+ years hands-on relevant propulsion system engineering and high-pressure pneumatics safety experience.
Extensive experience in designing, building and operating fluid assemblies and components (i.e., test panels, propellant management systems, valves, regulators, flow devices and instrumentation).
Extensive working experience with 3D modeling/design platforms (SolidWorks or equivalent).
Experience with materials and material compatibility analysis.
Pressure systems instrumentation experience.
Prior experience working with root cause analysis and corrective actions quality efforts in support of rigorous QMS processes.
Prior experience and familiarity with engineering standards including:
ASME Y14.5 GD&T
AS/MS/ISO/ Standards
Industry design and range safety requirements (91-710, S-080, RPUG, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with spacecraft fluid systems
Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS or equivalent) and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Manufacturing experience, preferably at scale.
Prior experience with integration facility ground support operations.

Salary Range:

● $120,000.00-$150,000.00 Annually

  1. Phone Interview with our Recruiting Team - 15-30 minutes - Where we learn about you, your experience, and what you're looking for in a new role, as well as give you a chance to learn about us, the role, and any questions you may have. If progressing to next step;
  2. Video Interview with the Hiring Manager - 30 minutes - This interview reviews the technical aspects of the role as well as your technical background. This is a great time for both you and the hiring manager to get more in depth about the expectations and technical mindset needed for the role. If progressing to next step;
  3. In-Person Interview - 90-120 minutes - Join us for an in-person interview at our office. During this time, you'll get to meet our team, tour our facility, and see what we do at Phase Four! If progressing to next step;
