Role Summary

Role: Catia V6 CAD Specialist (Contract)

Location: Fremont, CA

Duration: 3-6 months, starting as soon as possible

Department: Hardware Engineering (EE)

As a Catia V6 CAD Specialist, you will work closely with our Electrical & Mechanical Engineering teams to design vehicle harness layouts, ensuring seamless integration with vehicle chassis. Your expertise will optimize designs for manufacturing and compliance.You will produce design and assembly documentation such as piece parts drawings, 2D and 3D models, assembly documentation.You will be a part of the electrical design team and will be responsible for the mechanical design and integration of electronics devices, sensors, actuators.

Responsibilities:

  • Design vehicle harness layouts using Catia V6
  • Collaborate with chassis engineers for optimal integration
  • Implement design for mechanical supports (clamps, brackets, etc.)
  • Ensure efficient cable routing and bundling
  • Conduct other chassis design activities
  • Build CATIA components library
  • Generate process and assembly documentation and support such

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience minimum
  • Experience with Catia V6 required with electrical assembly workbench
  • Proficiency in designing mechanical supports
  • Knowledge of cable routing optimization and harness
  • Collaborative design, and compliance skills.
  • Automotive design experience.
  • Design For Manufacturing
  • Design For Assembly
  • Experience working with Product Line Management (PLM) systems preferred

Hourly Rate

$60—$80 USD
