The world is transitioning to Digital Ordering across the healthcare industry. At Parachute Health, we’re leading the charge with a platform that is 10 times faster than the status quo. We connect with major hospitals, payors, and suppliers of life-saving products. Our vision of a "delightfully simple" digital ordering experience for clinicians pushes us forward to transforming the world of post-acute care.
Since launching, we’ve helped millions of patients. Founded in New York City, we’ve grown across 50 states and partnered with 50,000 clinical facilities and over 2,000 supplier locations across 20,000+ products on the Parachute Platform.
Role Overview:
As a Category Manager at Parachute, you will play a pivotal role in building and managing our catalog of products and services. You will also manage our Insurance Coverage Criteria rules engine, which helps clinicians better understand what items are covered for patients during their time of need. This role involves collaborating closely with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure that our platform offers a comprehensive range of offerings aligned with market demand and business growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Catalog Management:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand strategic areas for business expansion, such as new product categories or markets.
- Conduct in-depth analysis and research within assigned categories. You will become a subject matter expert in product is-ness (how products exist including their physical attributes), as well as product application (how patients, vendors, clinicians, payors, and manufacturers interact with your product categories). You will also build familiarity with market trends and Parachute’s competitive landscape in your categories.
- Build and maintain the digital catalog in our Content Management System (CMS). You will analyze and organize various types and volumes of data, sourced from manufacturers and suppliers, to create product listings in our catalog. You will ensure accuracy, completeness, and usability of this catalog data.
- Continuously optimize the catalog content based on performance metrics, user feedback, and industry developments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Account Management, and Customer Success to enhance the quality and usability of the catalog.
2. Insurance Coverage Criteria Management:
- Analyze complex insurance coverage criteria requirements related to your categories.
- Translate this criteria into a flowchart of questions and outputs to facilitate product eligibility determination (our rules engine). Bring your design to life by building, testing, and launching it on the Parachute platform.
- Attend webinars and perform periodic research to stay informed about regulatory and industry changes affecting your categories.
3. Catalog & Coverage Criteria Alignment:
- Ensure seamless integration between the insurance rules engine and the catalog to enable efficient ordering processes.
- Conduct demonstrations of your work, internally and externally, to gather feedback and prioritize improvements with the greatest impact.
- Create and maintain documentation about your work to assist collaboration with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Raise workflow improvement opportunities to relevant internal software development teams.
- Solve ad-hoc issues and document the solutions for reuse by our support team.
Qualifications:
Personal Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and driven to manage projects through to their end.
- Adaptable to various types of projects within our domain.
- Works well with documented processes, and raises opportunities for process improvements.
- Clear, concise, and effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into easy-to-understand language and workflows.
- Ability to prioritize various tasks and concepts, while managing multiple timelines and finishing work on schedule.
- Collaborative mindset and excited to contribute to team success.

- Proficiency in researching, analyzing, interpreting, and manipulating various types and sizes of datasets.
- Familiarity with coding concepts or willingness to learn.
- Knowledge (or ability to pick up quickly) tools such as Google Workspace suite, Miro, Notion, Zendesk, and Tableau.
Nice to Have:
