PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Lead a team of electrical, mechanical, software, and electromagnetics engineers on the development of wireless power systems and modules for a diversity of applications, from spec development to customer product delivery.
  • Architect, simulate, model, design, and validate wireless power systems and modules for a diversity of applications, including consumer electronics, industrial devices, automotive industry applications, medical applications and other exciting industries.
  • Extensive hands-on design, troubleshooting, optimization, simulation, and modeling will be required.
  • Be the customer-facing technical authority on NuCurrent wireless power technology

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with engineering team to translate product requirements into engineering deliverables.
  • Lead the design and development of wireless power systems (including circuit design) for a variety of projects in parallel.
  • Devise timelines and work with internal team, partners, and vendors to ensure smooth progress of a project, and adherence to timelines.
  • Design will include using simulation tools such as SPICE (or equivalent) for circuits, mathematical analysis using Matlab (or equivalent), and Schematic and PCB layout using Altium.
  • Development will include extensive hands-on testing with RF boards developed either in-house or by partners/customers, using oscilloscopes, VNA’s, and other test equipment.
  • Influence company management, partners, and customers to support successful implementation of wireless power into products
  • Contribute to and influence the development of Intellectual Property.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Proven track record of simulation, modeling, design, and hands-on validation of mixed signal hardware
  • Circuit design and PCB design for EMI/EMC mitigation methods and techniques
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetics and magnetostatics (100 KHz – 100 MHz ideally)
  • Experience with validation of PA’s (1 W to 50 W), tuning/impedance matching circuits, voltage regulators
  • Very strong written & verbal communications skills, and good interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in use of electrical test equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, soldering tools, etc.)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Design Inductive wireless power coils in the most challenging applications for consumer electronics, medical (implantable devices), industrial, and automotive industries.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate in-situ modeling of wireless power antenna designs.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of electrical, mechanical, software engineers to produce the most innovative inductive wireless power solutions on the market.
  • Model, measure and select coil materials such as permeable material, coil substrate material, permanent magnet core and coating material, and enclosure adhesives to minimize losses due to proximity effects, skin effects, and fringe effects.
  • Interact with key customers to integrate NuCurrent’s solutions for wireless power.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with engineering team to translate product requirements into engineering deliverables
  • Lead antenna design projects from concept to production, ensuring adherence to industry standards and performance metrics.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Become the next superstar engineering technician in wireless power by gaining hands on, practical experience delivering products for world-class clients.
  • Help assemble and test wireless power systems and modules for a diversity of applications, including consumer electronics, industrial devices, automotive industry applications, medical applications and other exciting industries.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Engineering team on a daily basis to solder, assemble, disassemble, and re-work PCB assemblies, PCB/Flex/Wirewound coils, and mechanical housings/fixtures
  • Utilize soldering irons, pre-heaters, and microscopes to effectively and quickly make PCBA hardware usable by the Engineering team
  • Troubleshoot issues with faulty hardware and/or equipment to bring to resolution and modify hardware to make usable

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design novel circuit solutions for essential wireless power subsystems such as amplifiers, rectifiers, adaptive tuning circuits, in-band modulation and demodulation circuits, protection mechanisms and control subsystems.
  • Implement a holistic design strategy, considering power output, efficiency, component sensitivity, communication robustness, EMI, form factor requirements and thermal performance.
  • Design use of simulation tools such as ADS for circuits and test environment scripting using MATLAB and Schematic and PCB layout using Altium.

  • Printed circuit board SMD (down to 0201 component size) and through hole soldering and modification work.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Work with cross-functional engineering team to lead Wireless Power projects to success, gaining practical hands-on simulation, design, validation, and troubleshooting experience
  • Design wireless power solutions for a wide diversity of applications, including consumer electronics, industrial devices, automotive, medical, sporting goods, and others
  • Extensive contribution to system architecture design, as well as significant hands-on testing and optimization work

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design novel circuit solutions for essential wireless power subsystems such as amplifiers, rectifiers, adaptive tuning circuits, in-band modulation and demodulation circuits, protection mechanisms and control subsystems.
  • Implement a holistic design strategy, considering power output, efficiency, component sensitivity, communication robustness, EMI, form factor requirements and thermal performance.
  • Design use of simulation tools such as SPICE (or equivalent) for circuits, analytical derivations and test environment scripting using MATLAB and Schematic and PCB layout using Altium.
  • Testing and characterization of systems using Oscilloscopes, DMMs, E-loads, Battery Chargers, Thermal IR Cameras to measure efficiency, power, load-transient response, in-band communication robustness.
  • Testing and characterization of magnetic components and sub-systems using Spectrum Analyzers, field probes, function generators, Power Analyzers, HPNA (High Power VNAs), VNAs, Impedance Analyzer, and RF Power Amplifiers to measure coil characteristics, magnetic material saturation, subsystem’s performance difference between small and large signal, conducted and radiated emissions.
  • Collaborate with RF engineers, Magnetics Design Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and Data engineers to create automated system optimization tools that enable mass customization.
  • Work closely with engineering team to translate product requirements into engineering deliverables.
  • Work and adhere to project timelines to deliver on-time prototypes, test results, and documentation to customers.
  • Brief the company management on a regular basis on achievements and goals.
  • Contribute to the development of Intellectual Property.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Become the go-to product support engineer in wireless power by gaining hands on, practical experience troubleshooting products for world-class clients.
  • Contribute to the design and troubleshooting of wireless power systems and modules for a diversity of applications, including consumer electronics, industrial devices, automotive industry applications, medical applications and other exciting industries.
  • Extensive part research and evaluation, supplier coordination, and manufacturing coordination will be required.
  • Extensive hands-on troubleshooting and analysis will be required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and evaluate alternate part requests from customers and contract manufacturers
  • Research new and alternate parts for engineering

  • Create RFQ packages, reviewing submitted quotes, and recommending vendor choice for build

  • Help assemble and test wireless power systems and modules for a diversity of applications, including consumer electronics, industrial devices, automotive industry applications, medical applications and other exciting industries.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the Engineering team on a daily basis to solder, assemble, disassemble, and re-work PCB assemblies, PCB/Flex/Wirewound coils, and mechanical housings/fixtures
  • Utilize soldering irons, pre-heaters, and microscopes to effectively and quickly make PCBA hardware usable by the Engineering team
  • Troubleshoot issues with faulty hardware and/or equipment to bring to resolution and modify hardware to make usable
  • Execute tasks as assigned via technician task requests with efficiency and on-time to requested deliverable dates
  • Maintain an organized lab area and keep lab components and equipment in defined areas
  • Perform basic electrical tests on coils or PCBs as requested
