Dairy cheese is unsustainable and plant-based cheeses don’t work. At New Culture, we are making better cheese that is sustainable, healthy, ethical, and indistinguishable from current dairy cheese in taste, texture, and function. Using fermentation to produce dairy proteins, food science to combine those proteins with plant-based fats and sugars, and traditional cheesemaking methods to make any cheese of choice, we are bringing about a new culture for the cheese industry.
We are a venture-backed, Bay Area start-up looking for motivated interns to join us as early as Fall 2023 in our mission of producing animal-free dairy cheese. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-moving collaborative environment and help our team to achieve our commercialization and scale-up goals for product launch.
About New Culture’s Internship Program:
- New Culture is located in San Leandro, CA and is looking for interns that will help our team accomplish company goals. All interns will be assigned a mentor to help guide them and get them immersed in our culture from day one & interns will be able to present a capstone project to the team to culminate the internship! We would be happy to have our interns turn into full-time Curd Nerds; however, please note that we do not guarantee a full-time position after.
- New Culture will post internship openings on our careers page as we go. We strive to post them far enough in advance to allow plenty of time for people to apply, but we also believe in building relationships on the front end and will stay in touch to let you know when we have a matching position.

- Please know that if you fill out this application, we will reach out when we can, but may not have an open internship just yet; however, we’ll be sure to let you know when one becomes available if your background aligns. Internship duties and durations will depend on the specific team and role.
