About Mission Bio

At Mission Bio, we pioneer cutting-edge biotechnology tools for single-cell analysis. Our innovative solutions serve academic and commercial markets focusing on gene therapy and oncology diagnostics. With a rapidly expanding team of approximately 100 dedicated scientists, engineers, and professionals, we are at the vanguard of leveraging next-generation sequencing for high-throughput, multi-omic analysis.

VP Operations

As Vice President of Operations, you'll spearhead the manufacturing process of our unique product line, which spans both intricate instruments and multifaceted consumables. Your keen understanding of how to operate, manage, and innovate within this specialized environment will directly impact our growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the Manufacturing Process: Lead the manufacturing process of our internally engineered instruments and complex consumables. This includes managing the synthesis of core reagents and chemicals, such as oils, surfactants, and barcoding beads, as well as overseeing the development of our microfluidic chips.
  • Quality Control: Establish and implement stringent quality control measures to ensure the high-caliber manufacture of our products. With the instruments crafted externally but validated in-house, your meticulous approach to quality assessment will play a vital role in preserving our brand's reputation for excellence.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Harness your leadership skills to manage and mentor a robust operations team of approximately 10 individuals. Under your guidance, this team will master the manufacturing of our unique, in-house technologies and products.
  • Scalability Planning: Anticipate the trajectory of our company's growth and structure manufacturing and quality control scalability plans accordingly. As we prepare for a surge in consumables and instruments volumes over the next few years, your strategic planning will ensure we continue to meet demand without compromising quality.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain unwavering adherence to quality assurance guidelines and regulatory stipulations pertinent to high-specification product manufacturing in the biotech industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience overseeing instrument manufacturing and consumable production in a related industry.
  • Extensive familiarity with in-house technology development, particularly regarding novel, engineered systems, manufacturing processes, and stringent quality control systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic and anticipatory thinking, with a focus on planning for increasing production volumes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance protocols and industry regulatory rules

As the VP of Operations at Mission Bio, you won't just be overseeing our operations – you'll be shaping the future of single-cell analysis.

Employee Perks:

  • Comprehensive Benefits: We offer medical, dental and vision insurance, pre-tax commuter options and a 401(k) plan for all US employees.
  • Flexible working hours: We offer unlimited vacation for you to take the time you need to recharge and be your most productive self at work.
  • Training and professional development: Your manager will work with you to define objectives for your professional development and help you progress in your field.
