Digital Designer + Motion/Video (Remote)

*This is a remote position with up to 25% travel required. Travel will include trips to our San Francisco headquarters, Hair Color Bar hubs across the country, and other events.*

We’re looking for our newest Rockstar designer: Join a friendly, fun and fast-paced team in developing an amazing brand with a sparkling future. You’re bright, driven, accurate, you’ve got lots of ideas, and you’re up for a challenge!

Summary:

The Digital Designer’s main focus will be on the creation of performance marketing assets, working closely withthe acquisition team and art directors to create video, motion and static assets that drive customer acquisition onvarious digital channels. A portion of their time will also be dedicated to designing emails, social and digital assets that support business and creative needs. The designer must have strong visual communication skills and be able to think strategically about what drives customer interest and conversion. The designer must be skilled in receiving and implementing feedback that satisfies marketing goals while maintaining the brand aesthetic, and be able to effectively communicate with marketers to align business needs with creative direction.

What you do:

  • Create still, video and animated ads, ranging in complexity from static ads, to simple gifs, to :10-:30 videos for various platforms.
  • Design digital assets including web and social banners, emails, and landing
  • Present design thinking and work to internal clients and team members with your engaging presentation skills.
  • Contribute stellar design skills with creative, edgy, and bold concepts for marketing and branding projects with a keen eye for a simple, strong design.
  • Display a passion for art, advertising, design, culture and
  • Think analytically and strategically: Concept and strategize a wide range of creative solutions, and consider versions for user testing.
  • Understand, articulate, and strategically apply the latest platform/industry/creative trends and digital best practices.
  • Foster positive, enthusiastic and collaborative relationships among the teams’ internal “clients”—digital product, social, acquisition, retention, and PR.
  • On occasion, develop, and contribute to PowerPoint and Slides decks with a high degree of flair.

Branding:

  • Have a strong knowledge of color, typography, design and graphic
  • Follow design direction and uphold consistency of the brand across all
  • Be a champion of the customer: view things from their perspective, and always advocate for them to have the optimal experience.
  • Become a key "voice" within the larger marketing team, promoting design, our brand aesthetic, and how it can be utilized across departments.
  • Strong understanding of our brand aesthetic, and ability to extrapolate on it in a fluid way, contributing to the quality and depth of the brand.

Workflow:

  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, start-up environment with changing
  • Manage your workflow from home with the help of the Project

Who you are:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Products, Figma, MS Office, and Google
  • Nimble and knowledgeable in video editing and simple animation, including skills in Premiere, Final Cut,After Effects and/or proficiency with similar video production
  • Knowledgeable in photo
  • 3+ years of professional in-house design
  • A portfolio showing a wide range of project types, particularly web, email, social, campaign concepting and production.
  • Proactive, assertive and Able to explain and support your thinking to anyone, including marketers and non-designers: define the design problem and describe your solution with clarity.
  • A great attitude, ability to take constructive criticism, willingness to learn; able to absorb and apply feedback quickly with a positive outlook.
  • Solid understanding of digital media, email design principles, emerging technologies and new ideas.
  • Beauty or fashion experience is a plus
