Logistics Coordinator

*This is a remote position with up to 15% travel required. Travel will include trips to our Fulfillment Centers, Hair Color Bar locations, and other events.*

You understand the need for operational excellence across a business operating in DTC e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retail categories. You might have a background in logistic operations, transportation, or international freight. You love negotiating rates and setting up a diverse portfolio of brokers and carriers. You revel in the knowledge that you are transporting goods faster at a lower rate. You love analyzing the metrics for what is driving the business then taking action to ensure goals are met. You build strong relationships cross functionally with internal and external customers and take pride in delivering for the business because that is what operators do each day. What you will do:

  • Partner with freight forwarder and logistics partners to schedule and book international and domestic freight.
  • Create, update and distribute the in-transit report daily, with tracking updates on inbound containers and domestic shipments, including transfers.
  • Review receiving activity daily across all warehouse and manufacturing locations, and process the receipts within our ERP.
  • Partner with Purchasing and Warehouse OPS to create and send ASNs to warehouses with incoming receipts as part of the shipment setup process.
  • Resolve shipping/receiving discrepancies using invoices, packing slips, BOLs, etc. and partnering with Warehouse OPS to work with consignee/shippers to confirm details.
  • Partner with inventory planning on shipment prioritization out of supplier locations.
  • Monitor shipments from origin to destination and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Follow up on routing issues with a retailer’s transportation team when needed to resolve.
  • Review and become familiar with all customer profiles to ensure they are up-to-date and in compliance with all guidelines and requirements.
  • Review opportunities to consolidate orders that drop as small parcel and less than truckload shipments to reduce freight costs.
  • Compare rates and select delivery / transportation methods to minimize cost and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with purchasing to ensure vendors palletize and load product according to warehouse routing guides to reduce non-compliance fees.
  • Participate and facilitate new customer onboarding processes at the warehouses, including oversight of EDI integration and WMS new customer configurations to meet go-live targets.
  • Manage and solve EDI issues as they occur.
  • Monitor non-compliance fees and partner with Purchasing to implement corrective action to ensure products are shipped according to the warehouse guidelines.
  • Transition all carriers and brokers to run through our TMS for streamlined reporting.
  • Support the supply chain, accounting and finance teams with month-end close and audit requests as required.
  • What you will need
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with strong relevant work experience.
  • 2-3 years of logistics, transportation management, order management and operations experience in a fast-paced CPG or personal care company.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP is preferred but not required if the candidate has similar ERP experience on a different platform such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, etc.
  • Experience with a TMS is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as an individual contributor.
  • Self-starter with strong time-management, project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, yet flexible in approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks resulting in consistent productivity.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change of pace.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple levels of the organization.
