The Role

We are looking for our Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) that will continue to build and scale an effective risk management program. This role will require a solution oriented leader who is deeply experienced in risk management in a highly regulated environment. The Head of ERM will lead the enterprise risk management function at LTSE and partner with colleagues across compliance, legal, finance, technology, internal audit, marketing, and the business to solve challenging business problems and build new programs. This position will report to the Exchange’s Chief Executive Officer, with Audit Committee interaction, and be a critical member of the management team.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • None now, but may eventually have 1-2 direct reports in the future.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk management policies and procedures to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across all aspects of the exchange's operations.
  • Provide guidance and support to drive continuous improvement in risk management practices throughout the organization.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks to assess their potential impact on the exchange's risk profile and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including trading, compliance, finance, and technology teams, to integrate risk management principles into business processes and decision-making.
  • Interface with regulatory authorities and external auditors to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, stress tests, and scenario analysis to evaluate the exchange's resilience to various market conditions and potential disruptions.
  • Prepare and present risk reports, analyses, and recommendations to senior management and the Board of Directors to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools, with the ability to apply quantitative and qualitative techniques to assess and mitigate risks.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate effectively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities and deadlines while maintaining a focus on risk management best practices and regulatory compliance.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, risk management, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS) preferred.
  • 12-15 years of experience in risk management (or 8+ years with Master's degree), preferably in the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of market structure, trading mechanisms, and regulatory requirements.

Nice to Haves

  • Professional certifications such as PRM (Professional Risk Manager) are highly desirable.
  • Experience with Regulation SCI is a plus.

In order to support equitable pay and ensure there’s no bias in our compensation process, our philosophy is based on the work being performed. To determine the compensation for the role, we use a data-driven, blended rate approach to ensure we are paying competitively among our peers by benchmarking to companies of similar size and stage and hire at the 50th percentile (midpoint) of the salary range.

The salary range for this role is $180,000 - $220,000
