HawkEye 360 is currently seeking a Systems Operations Engineer to join the System Operations team, which is a group of passionate engineers dedicated to maximizing the performance and quality of the end-to-end HE360 system through solving real time problems, monitoring system performance, and establishing Key Performance Indicators. We own and drive internal and customer issues to resolution while keeping an open channel of communication with the stakeholders during on-going cases. The team is looking to add someone who can champion and help evolve our system quality program.

As the Systems Operations Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

• Enhance quality assessment and control of the collection system, RF processing algorithms, and customer data products
• Develop, execute, and monitor automated tests and give regular feedback to the team on the status of key performance indicators
• Automate QA/QC scheduling and monitoring processes by developing scripts, building tools/dashboards, and establishing procedures
• Be a creative thinker who can quickly identify and test for functional edge cases outside of expected functionality
• Work closely with the engineering and space teams to define and implement additional quality control test cases, processes, and metrics
• Support the operations of the company by becoming conversant with, and recommending improvements for, all internal operational tools

Your skills and qualifications:
Essential education and experience:

• 3+ years professional software development, data engineering, and/or quality assurance experience
• B.S./B.A. in a technical field or equivalent technical work experience
• Practical development and/or scripting experience in Python, R, or other scripting languages
• Hands-on experience with navigating and querying PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Demonstrated experience using version control (ex. Git)
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Lots of initiative, and the ability to learn quickly and seek help when needed

Desirable:

• Geospatial knowledge and experience with GIS applications (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.)
• Experience with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
• Familiarity with satellite operations and/or RF geolocation
• Experience working in a customer-facing position

Salary Range: $95,000 - $135,000 annually

HawkEye 360 offers a compensation package that includes a competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus and benefits. We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as candidate's work experience, education, training & skills, as well as market and business considerations. We are also open to considering candidates with experience and qualifications at a different level than required in a job posting, which may affect the compensation package offered.
