As an Outreach Specialist, you'll be the heart of our community efforts, working on-site in Camden laundromats to connect with families and help them navigate essential services. About The Role
As an Outreach Specialist, you'll be the heart of our community efforts, working on-site in Camden laundromats to connect with families and help them navigate essential services. This isn’t just a job; it’s a chance to build relationships, educate, and be part of a movement that’s changing healthcare access for those who need it most.
What You’ll Do
- Engage and Build Trust: Approach families in laundromats, strike up meaningful conversations, and create supportive connections
- Educate on Public Benefits: Explain public benefits programs and eligibility, empowering families with the information they need to make informed choices
- Understand Family Needs: Identify unique needs and help families access resources that support their well-being
- People-Person with Outreach or Customer Service Experience – You may have experience in sales, customer service, community outreach, or social work. You enjoy meeting new people and building trust
- Empathetic: You care about people and are motivated to help families
- Adaptable: You’re comfortable working in laundromats and can adjust to different situations
- Self-Motivated: You’re able to take initiative and work independently
- Community-Minded: You believe in the power of community and want to make a positive impact
- Comfortable with Laundromat Outreach – Ready to spend time in laundromats, talking with everyone there and becoming a friendly, trusted face in the community (don’t worry, no laundry required!)
- Consistent Weekend Availability – Able to work on weekends, our busiest time for outreach
- Reliable Transportation – Can travel to various laundromats in Camden
- Experience with High-Needs Communities – Comfortable working with families who may be facing challenges
- Tech-Savvy – Willing to use technology and learn new tools
- Bilingual in Spanish – Helpful for connecting with a broader range of families
- Familiarity with public benefits programs
- Full-time: $22.50 - $25/hr
- Paid Time Off (PTO) plan
