Job Overview:
The AM Lead Technician will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of our additive manufacturing (AM) processes. This position requires a highly skilled technician who understands the production cadence and operations, can adapt to changing priorities, effectively delegates resources and personnel, and is able to learn AM processes quickly (if not already known). The AM Lead Technician will ensure the highest quality and efficiency in the production of parts, provide technical guidance to the team, and collaborate closely with supervisors and management.
This is a 3-4 x10 rotating shift alternating Wednesday to Saturday

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
Lead and manage a team of AM technicians.
Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
Oversee the setup, operation, and cleanliness of AM equipment.
Perform direct work alongside the team for at least 80% of the shift, demonstrating proficiency in technical tasks.
Utilize expertise to assess work requirements and allocate tasks effectively.
Shift Handoff and Communication:
Receives thorough handoff from the previous shift, incorporating both written and verbal communication whenever possible.
Independently assesses the state of the workspace and equipment at beginning of shift.
Maintains accurate written journal of key events and developments during shift.
Provides comprehensive shift handoff to the next shift lead, ensuring continuity of operations.
Task Prioritization and Delegation:
Identifies priorities and allocates tasks to the team based on operational needs and with consideration to individual skills and experience.
Utilizes spot-checks to assess and verify work performance, with consideration to operational and individual context.
Efficiently manages your time and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines and operational requirements.
Performance Management and Leadership:
Offer constructive feedback on team performance and escalate issues to the supervisor when necessary.
Lead by example, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional excellence, and alignment with organizational values.
Build rapport and trust with the team, fostering a positive, respectful, and supportive work environment.
Mentorship and Training:
Mentor and train individuals on the team, including supporting the onboarding process for new hires.
Situational Awareness and Presence:
Maintain situational awareness of work progress throughout the shift.
Be accessible and responsive to the team's questions and concerns, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Emotional Intelligence and Conflict Resolution:
De-escalate and stabilize emotionally charged situations and conflicts within the team.
Demonstrate empathy, self-control, and self-awareness in interactions with team members.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Additive Manufacturing (AM), with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
Associate degree in a technical field is preferred.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Experience in the Aerospace and/or automotive industry.
Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
Certification in Additive Manufacturing or related fields.
Physical Demands:
Frequent work in a factory environment.
Ability to walk, kneel, reach, climb, and use hands to operate machinery.
Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
