Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:
•Work in structural optimization of vehicles.
•Design and analyze vehicle structures using hand calculations, topology optimization, and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
•Create, refine and execute new technical solutions for vehicle structures to support vehicle programs and joint development efforts with external customers.
•Develop updated structural designs for and perform engineering analysis on existing programs.
•Execute engineering design release of structural components and subsystems.
•Responsible for structural integrity and compliance to Divergent technical and quality standards throughout vehicle’s life cycle.
•Work collaboratively in a team environment within the Structures team and cross-functionally with other disciplines to efficiently design and release structures that are optimized for mass, efficient production and assembly.
•Work with finite element analysis and CAD/CAE tools including NX, Hypermesh, Hyperworks and Optistruct.
Requirements:
•Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a closely related field.
•At least TWO (2) years of experience in the job offered, OR at least TWO (2) years of experience with the following:
1. CAE engineering in automotive manufacturing
2.Building structural analysis simulation models for analysis and optimization of vehicle architectures, including vehicle frames and chassis structures
3.Finite element analysis (FEA)
4.Structural design and analysis to evaluate structure performance using static and dynamic FEA techniques, numerical and analytical structural analysis methods
5.Optimization of vehicle structures
6.CAE software: Hypermesh, Hyperworks, and Optistruct
