Divergent is a qualified Tier 1 supplier to global automotive OEMs, and Divergent is now expanding to support mission critical needs in the Aerospace and Defense sector.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:
•To perform design and optimization of next-generation vehicle components, including suspension systems parts, body, and frame components.
•Design and analyze vehicle structures using hand calculations, topology optimization, and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
•Engage in end-to-end management of vehicle components through the design development phase (engineering design release), including defining the requirements, conceptualization of components, CAE simulations to find optimum load path, developing CAD, defining fabrication methodology and machining strategy, CAE validation of the final CAD, developing the test plan and testing the component.
•Engage in load path predictions using Hypermesh, Hyperview, and Optistruct to evaluate and predict optimized structures that can effectively perform their intended use.
•Work with pre-and-post processors and with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
•Work collaboratively in a team environment within the Structures team and cross-functionally with other disciplines to efficiently design and release structures that are optimized for mass, efficient production, and assembly.
Requirements:
•Master of Science in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
•At least TWO (2) years of experience in the job offered, OR at least TWO (2) years of experience with the following:
1.CAE engineering in automotive manufacturing
2.Developing the CAE procedures and target requirements to assess performance in Durability, Stiffness, Strength, and Optimization for closures and subsystems of vehicle components
3.Develop detailed testing plans to enhance CAE capability.
4.Pre-Post Processors: Hypermesh, Primer, Hypergraph, Hyperview
5.FEA software: ABAQUS, Optistruct, NASTRAN, NCode – DesignLife, Motion Solve
