Job Overview: Divergent seeks a driven and adept Process Specialist focused on the development and enhancement of processes related to Additive Manufacturing (AM) equipment. We aim to set a new standard in aerospace and automotive manufacturing, and we need a proactive team member to help redefine the future of manufacturing and automation.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Technician Training and Development: Develop, implement, and maintain onboarding, training, and qualification programs and materials for technicians.
•Process Enhancement: Maintain and enhance processes related to metal powder bed fusion additive manufacturing machines and auxiliary equipment, ensuring optimal part quality, machine uptime, and production throughput.
•Data Collection and Analysis: Develop and execute data collection, analysis, and reporting to support team performance goals such as time studies, throughput measurement, and material consumption.
•Audits and Inspections: Conduct scheduled audits on machine performance and support the implementation of robust programs for continuous improvement, including space inspections, audits, and surveillances.
•Process Documentation: Generate and review technical documentation as required, including work instructions, issue summaries, material requisitions, and equipment specifications. Regularly update process documentation.
•5S Coordination: Coordinate 5S projects to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
•Safety Compliance: Work with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) teams to create and review Job Hazard Sheets (JHS) ensuring compliance with safety standards.
•Process Improvement: Act as the primary person responsible for process improvement activities.
•Additional Responsibilities: Undertake additional tasks as needed to meet departmental objectives.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
•Associate degree in a technical field is preferred.
•Strong experience in process improvement and project management.
•LEAN / Six Sigma experience
•Experience with metal (or other) Additive Manufacturing (AM) processes and equipment such as SLM Solutions, EOS, Arcam EBM, Additive Industries, Velo3D and Solukon depowdering system is a plus but not mandatory.
Skills:
•Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Smart sheets and PowerPoint.
•Hands-on experience with additive technology, machines, systems, and processes in a factory environment.
•Strong self-motivation, prioritization, and execution skills in a fast-paced startup environment.
•Autonomous and logical troubleshooting capabilities under pressure.
•Proficient use of a wide variety of hand tools and test equipment.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly in technical records documentation and presentation.
•Solid interpersonal skills to work within a small, growing team and interface with engineering and manufacturing groups.
Physical Demands:
•Frequent work in a factory environment.
•Ability to walk, kneel, reach, climb, and use hands to operate machinery.
•Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
