Purpose
The Factory Operations Specialist is responsible for coordinating with work center supervisors under production and post-processing operations. This role ensures seamless transitions between shifts, continuity of operations across post-processing work centers, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage short-term operational changes effectively. Post Processing work centers include operations at the following stages: Band Saw, Support Removal, Media Blast, Heat Treat, Assembly Cure, CNC Machining, Anodize, Automated Assembly and Prototype and Fabrication.
The Role
•Operational Oversight
Assume production duties in the absence of the Factory Operations Manager
Delegate operational changes to meet short-term deadlines and production goals
Identify and schedule necessary overtime to meet production demands
Monitor and enforce 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices and safety protocols in work centers
Research, plan and execute special projects as required in support of factory operations
Approve Timesheets, PTO and other non-exempt time keeping duties across work centers
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
Maintain confidentiality by protecting sensitive information and ensuring privacy according to company policies and guidelines.
•Shift Coordination
Lead daily shift hand-off from 1st shift to 2nd shift across post-processing work centers
Ensure seamless continuity of operations between shifts
•Collaboration and Communication
oInterface with engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality, and production planners to ensure smooth process flows and address any operational issues
Attend and contribute to recurring production meetings, providing updates and insights on post-processing operations
Support technician onboarding across various work centers, ensuring they are well-integrated into the production process
Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of experience in related field
•Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
•Proven leadership experience in a factory or production setting.
Preferred Qualifications
•Strong understanding of 5S methodology and safety standards
•Experience with Smart Sheet, Excel, PowerBi, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft 365 (Office) and Oracle
•Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions
