Purpose
The Facilities Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of security policies and procedures to ensure the protection of company personnel, property, and information. The FSO ensures compliance with government and company security regulations, coordinates security activities with relevant agencies, and fosters a secure working environment.
The Role
•Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures to protect company assets and personnel.
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) requirements.
•Conduct security briefings, debriefings, and training for employees and contractors.
•Coordinate and conduct security audits, inspections, and investigations.
•Manage access control systems, including issuing and tracking security badges.
•Liaise with government security agencies, including the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).
•Prepare and submit required security reports and documentation.
•Oversee the classification, safeguarding, and destruction of classified information.
•Respond to security incidents and emergencies, conducting investigations as necessary.
•Maintain and manage security records and databases.
•Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
•Support security aspects of the personnel clearance process, including submission of e-QIP packages.
•Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive security measures.
Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in security management, Criminal Justice, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
•Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a security role within the aerospace and defense industry.
•In-depth knowledge of NISPOM and other relevant security regulations.
•Current Facility Security Officer (FSO) certification or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
•Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
•Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
•Master’s degree in security management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
•Experience with electronic security systems and access control technologies.
•Familiarity with insider threat programs and risk management frameworks.
•Experience conducting security training and awareness programs.
•Active Top Secret security clearance.
•Certification in security management (e.g., Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP).
