Divergent is seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Control Supervisor to support the next generation of industry-leading additive manufacturing operations. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in planning and executing the inspection activities to ensure total compliance to the requirements and relentlessly support on-time delivery to production demands. This position requires a meticulous attention to detail, strong leadership abilities, and a deep curiosity to continuously streamline the inspection operations. This individual will be a hands-on manager, who will support all these production support activities, and also manage the team of people who are currently conducting this work.
Core Responsibilities
· Coordinate Quality Activities: Collaborate closely with production and logistics teams to coordinate inspection schedules and prioritize critical inspection tasks to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
· Maximize Resource Efficiency: Optimize inspection workflows and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize cycle times while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
· Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of quality control technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure consistent performance and adherence to quality standards.
· Inspection Operations: Oversee and conduct inspections of additive manufacturing processes, raw materials, and finished products to verify compliance with specifications and requirements.
· Collaboration with Quality Engineering: Work closely with the quality engineering team to drive requirements definition and feedback to manufacturing, ensuring that process plans are accurately developed and executed to meet customer specifications and quality standards
· Training Compliance: Develop and implement training programs to ensure that inspection team members are up to date on relevant skills and knowledge.
· Procedure Maintenance: Develop and implement standardized procedures and protocols for receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection, ensuring consistency and reliability across all stages of production.
· Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspection results, non-conformities, and corrective actions taken. Generate reports for management review and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Issues Resolution: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues and implement robust corrective actions.
· Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with procurement and supplier management teams to evaluate and provide feedback on supplier performance, ensuring the quality of incoming materials and components.
· Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement efforts across the quality control function, proactively identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and optimize resources.
· Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all quality control activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
· Or any other Quality related activities as assigned by Quality Management.
Basic Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment
· 3+ years of experience in a supervision role, preferably in quality control, quality assurance, or precision engineering industries.
· Familiarity with aerospace quality management systems and standards, such as AS9100 or NADCAP.
· Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
· Experience with quality control processes and tools, including ability to perform receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a commitment to meeting tight deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
Preferred Qualifications:
· A degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
· Experience in additive manufacturing and aerospace/defense industries.
· Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA).
· Familiarity with aerospace inspection tools and equipment, including non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
