Purpose of Job:
Design, develop, and deploy laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) process parameter and AM process solutions for the company. Define and deliver robust production process parameters for materials including nickel alloys, aluminum alloys, and steels.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:
1)Have demonstrated experience in metallurgy, welding engineering, and/or additive materials processing, along with the ability to teach and set standard practices within the domain.
2)Define process windows of L-PBF materials using design of experiments. Track robustness of identified process windows using maturity assessment metrics like the Material/ Manufacturing Readiness Level. Drive continuous improvement opportunities and maintains yield metrics.
3)Lead AM parameter development and optimization strategies. Individual will have domain expertise in and hands-on experience in build file preparation, parameter/material failure investigation, and parameter optimization.
4)Work with production leaders to deploy the defined process parameters of L-PBF materials.
5)Help to build, mentor, and professionally develop a world-class AM process development team.
6)Possess the ability to define scope, manage resources, measure progress, and effectively communicate status of materials and process development projects.
7)Assure proper formulation and design of experiments and thorough documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Follow defined procedures and processes and help to create them where needed.

Requirements:
Education:
B.S. and/or M.S./Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Data Science with 2-3 years of industrial experience in manufacturing
Licenses/Certificates:-
Experience
•8+ years of experience with build preparation software such as Magics
•8+ years of experience with process parameter development via statistical analysis and DOE
•Hand-on experience with L-PBF systems
•Knowledge in additive manufacturing of metallic materials preferred
Skills:
•CAD/ CAM
•Materialise Magics training preferred
