Position: CMM Programmer
Divergent is seeking an experienced and motivated Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer to support the next generation of industry-leading additive manufacturing operations. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the precision and quality of aerospace and automotive components, using state-of-the-art Coordinate Measuring Machines. Core Responsibilities
•Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines to perform dimensional inspections and analysis for aerospace and automotive components.
•Develop and optimize CMM programs, with a focus on using PC-DMIS software.
•Interpret engineering drawings and specifications for measurement tasks.
•Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of CMM equipment.
•Ensure programming efficiency and reliability for specific measurement tasks.
•Document measurement results and compile reports for quality assurance.
•Identify and resolve measurement discrepancies.
•Support root cause analysis in collaboration with cross-functional teams to address quality issues.
•Work closely with Quality Engineers, machinists, and production team to support demand.
•Train other personnel in CMM operations and programming and create documentation in accordance with company certifications.
•Participate in initiatives to enhance measurement processes and CMM utilization.
•Stay current with the latest advancements in CMM technology and metrology practices.
•And any other relevant tasks as assigned by Quality Management
Basic Qualifications
•4+ years of experience programming and operating the CMM in a Production environment.
•Solid experience in PC-DMIS CMM programming software
•Offline programming experience in PC-DMIS 2020 or later
•Proficient in creating and executing inspections in PolyWorks
•Expert knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and measurement techniques
•Familiarity with standard measurement tools: micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, thread plugs, and plug gages.
•Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100 and IATF 16949
•Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
** Intermediate Excel
•Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Motivated self-starter with solid interpersonal skills with the ability to manage workload to meet dynamic priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
•8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance & Control in a manufacturing environment
•Hands-on experience with a variety of metrology equipment and techniques beyond CMM, such as laser scanning and 3D imaging.
•Advance skills in data analysis and CAD software
•Professional certifications in metrology, quality assurance, and related fields
•Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively train and mentor staff in metrology techniques and best practices.
•Familiarity with computer languages such as Python, C++, VB, etc.
•Familiarity with automation techniques for CMM such as data output, interface between PC-DMIS and external software.
