Divergent has invented a complete manufacturing solution to address system level challenges. The Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) is a complete software hardware solution designed to replace traditional vehicle manufacturing. To make the complex simple, it is a complete modular digital factory for complex structures. Given a set of digital requirements as input, the machine automatically computationally engineers, additively manufactures, and assembles any complex structure. The system is able to move seamlessly between manufacturing different vehicle models.
Purpose of Job:
As a Laboratory Intern at Divergent, your responsible is to ensure the safe storage and efficient management of chemicals, as well as supporting various laboratory operations. You will work closely with our adhesive lab supervisor and experienced chemists to maintain a well-organized and compliant laboratory environment.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:
1.Chemical management
•Sort chemicals based on chemical compatibility per SDS to ensure safe storage.
•Follow proper safety protocols when handling chemicals and laboratory equipment.
•Conduct material receiving procedure including the accurate logging of chemical information such as name, lot, quantity, SDS, TDS and status in a chemical tracking software.
•Maintain accuracy of chemical software for inventory and ensuring products are at assigned locations by performing chemical audits.
•Implement proper labeling and storage chemicals to prevent chemical hazard.
•Assist in the disposal of laboratory waste materials in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
2.Laboratory support
•Maintain the lab in a tidy and organized manner following lab protocols and 6S guidance.
•Under direct supervision, perform basic tasks in the laboratory such as preparing and testing samples, operating basic lab instrument and entering data in the computer as required.
•Adhere to company policy and procedures, including safety and quality to ensure the compliance of the laboratory.
•Collaborate well with team members to complete tasks and achieve project goals.
•Assist with other laboratory tasks as necessary or as directed by the lab supervisor.
Work Environment:
Requirements:
Education:Minimum: High School Diploma, Current college student (chemical, mechanical or materials engineer) with a 3.0 minimum GPA
Licenses/Certificates:
Experience:
•Basic knowledge of chemistry, safety, analytical testing preferred
•Basic understanding of laboratory safety procedure and protocols
Skills:
•Detail oriented
•Good organization skills, and record keeping
•Able to communicate clearly
•Proficiency in using computer software for data entry and tracking
