We are seeking a highly motivated data analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, identifying trends and patterns, and providing insights to drive business decisions. The candidate must be proficient in SQL with working knowledge of data analysis in Python. Beginning responsibilities will include deconstructing existing reports, cataloging logic, and rebuilding on a new data stack.

The ideal candidate will have industry experience in insurance, claims, risk or fraud. Additionally, experience in pipeline tools, BigQuery and DBT or visualization tools such as Mode Analytics, ThoughtSpot, or Sisense is a plus.

What you'll do:

  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends and patterns
  • Develop claims metrics such as development triangles and IBNR
  • Generate predictive models for risk and fraud detection
  • Continuously monitor data quality and identify areas for improvement
  • Creating and maintaining data documentation
  • Create data visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify analytics opportunities
  • Work with stakeholders to identify metrics and KPIs
  • Monitoring and tracking to internal analytics request
  • Assist in pipeline development and maintenance (Hevo, BiqQuerry, DBT)
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data analysis

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field
  • 2+ years data analyst experience for a mobility or property & casualty insurance company
  • Experience in insurance, claims, risk or fraud
  • A sound understanding of insurance metrics and calculations
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Bonus points if:

  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such as Mode Analytics, ThoughtSpot, Looker, or Sisense
  • Experience with BigQuery and DBT
