Dentologie is seeking a Payroll and Accounting Specialist (hybrid role, seated at our River North HQ in Chicago, IL).
The ideal candidate would be a seasoned Payroll and Accounting Specialist who also has some experience assisting with other accounting and finance tasks. You will need a can-do attitude, a desire to get work completed on time and compassion for people! The ideal candidate will have been through payroll audits, assisted with month end close and not be afraid of the terms FUTA, SUTA, Workers Comp IDES or 401K.
This position is part payroll, part staff accountant and part finance assistant. You will assist with the management and processing of two bi-weekly payrolls and one monthly payroll time clock processes across 17 locations (in two states): reconciliation of employee benefit policies; and payroll compliance activities of the company via Paycom. You will be in charge of finalizing our monthly commission and bonus calculations. Outside of payroll, you will oversee doctor credentialing, our business insurance policies, attend to claims and renewals and be involved in our month-end benefit reconciliations and revenue reporting.

Requirements:
- Previous success in a payroll operations role 3+ years of experience.
- Previous experience assisting with month end close
- General understanding of employee benefit plans including 401K
- Experience with payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employee roles
- Experience with multi-state payrolls and remote workforces
- Proficiency in PAYCOM or other complex payroll/HRIS systems
- Experience managing flexible benefit plans including commuter, HSA and FSA
- Experience with IDES, unemployment claims and workers comp claims
- Ability to register the business in new states, cities and regions for payroll withholding taxes, unemployment and workers comp.
- Experience managing transactions for 401K and Roth plans (5500’s are a plus)
- Knowledge of workers’ compensation policies and audits
- Knowledge of benefit enrollments and exchange of data with payroll systems
- Sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information
- Natural desire to help / champion for employees
- Eager to learn, collaborative, self-motivated and self-directed
- Ability to be onsite 3-5 days per week in our corporate office in River North
