We are looking for an Engineering Leader to function as the right hand person to our CEO and take over the day to day leadership of our engineering team. You are a dynamic leader comfortable in an early stage startup beginning a period of hyper-growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Own the team's technical roadmap, production, and leadership to define and execute against Bluespace’s goals and objectives.
- Lead a team of engineers to solve the core perception and prediction problems in autonomy.
- Initiate and foster close cross-functional collaborations internally and externally.
- Have a clear and direct impact and ownership of products.
- Grow the team to be world-class and foster a culture of openness, collaboration, and innovation.
- Demonstrated ability to digest and use new technology quickly and strategically.
- Consistent track record of successfully making progress amidst ambiguity.
- Strong C++ software development background
- Experience developing software under real-time performance requirements.
- Experience with perception software stack for self-driving or similar mobile robotics applications.
Qualification and Experience
- MS or PhD in computer science, robotics, or relevant engineering discipline.
- Five+ years experience leading a team in a high-growth startup.
- Experience managing and launching products.
- Experience driving cross-team collaborations.
- Passionate about advancing perception for all autonomy.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- You have proven people management and leadership skills and a consistent track record of mentoring and coaching team members.
- You are passionate about creating and fostering good engineering practices and processes.
Extra Credit
- Hands-on experience in working with vehicle dynamics software for production vehicles.
