BlueSpace.ai is building the next generation of self-driving technology to create the safety certainty needed for genuinely driverless vehicles. Our patented 4D Predictive Perception enables this by calculating all objects’ motion from next-gen 4D sensors. BlueSpace.ai’s team brings experience from all over the autonomous vehicles (AV) industry, including OEMs, world-class research institutions, and autonomous driving companies.

In this role of Business Development & Strategy, you will have the opportunity to foster and drive new business partnerships which will bring our technology and products to the marketplace. Your mission will be to seek, foster and open new business and partnership opportunities. This is deep tech, which means there is no playbook. The expectation is that you will draw from individual and collective experience and insight and implement and iterate.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations while driving program goals.
  • Conduct market research
  • Develop business strategies
  • Identify and seek new business opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BS in finance, business, engineering or other quantitative field of study. Advanced degrees welcomed
  • 7-8 years of experience in business development in a technology related field, preferably in areas of autonomy and robotics software.
  • Experience with bringing new technology to market
  • Experience at a software startup or early-stage company (comfortable in an unstructured environment and ambiguity).
  • Ability to analyze new business opportunities, connect the “unseen” connections, develop strategy recommendations, and translate those recommendations into action.
  • Operate well in unstructured environments with excellent project management skills.
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and partners.
  • Quickly digest, organize, structure and simplify significant detailed information.
  • A self-starter with the ability to drive projects from start to finish, and have a high sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain long-term relationships.

Extra Credit

  • Excel at written and verbal communication skills; can negotiate custom agreements with balanced terms.
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills, able to interpret and communicate technical information concisely and effectively.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Experience developing partnerships within an ecosystem (industrial OEMs, fleet operators, or industries in mining, farming, perception, mapping software companies, etc.).
  • Experience at a software startup or early-stage company (comfortable in an unstructured environment and ambiguity).
  • Experience with grant writing.
