Title: Director of Trade Marketing - Chain Accounts

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Department: Trade Marketing

Reports to: VP of Trade Marketing

Salary: $100,000 - $137,500 + Bonus

Job Summary:

The Director of Trade Marketing - Chain Accounts is a leadership role responsible for leading and directing the organization's trade marketing strategies and initiatives tailored specifically for chain account customers. This position focuses on building and nurturing strong relationships with chain account partners, driving brand visibility, and maximizing sales growth within this crucial B2B segment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does have direct supervisory responsibilities, overseeing and guiding the performance of team members within the assigned department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Chain Account Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive trade marketing strategies and programs specifically designed for chain account customers, aligning with the company's overall B2B objectives.
  • Chain Account Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with chain account customers, including large retail and on-premise chains.
  • Market Analysis: Collaborate with Category Insights Team research results to understand the unique needs, preferences, and market trends within the chain account segment, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Marketing Collateral: Oversee the development of customized marketing collateral, presentations, and product documentation to cater to the specific requirements of chain account partners.
  • Promotional Campaigns: Lead the planning and execution of targeted trade marketing campaigns, promotions, and incentives to drive product adoption and sales growth within chain accounts.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate closely with the sales team to provide marketing support to chain account representatives, including training, sales tools, and resources.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of trade marketing initiatives within the chain account segment and implement improvements as needed.
  • Budget Management: Manage the trade marketing budget allocated for chain account initiatives, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all trade marketing activities and materials comply with industry regulations, standards, and company policies.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Ability to develop and implement effective trade marketing strategies that align with overall business goals, specifically for chain accounts.
  • Relationship Management: Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including chain account managers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Sales and Marketing Expertise: Deep understanding of sales processes and marketing principles, with the ability to drive sales growth through innovative marketing initiatives.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and influence decision-makers.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and motivating cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to manage budgets, analyze sales data, and measure the effectiveness of trade marketing campaigns.
  • Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Agility in adapting to changing market conditions and finding creative solutions to business challenges.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with digital marketing tools, project management software, and GoogleSuite.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Relevant Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in trade marketing, with a focus on chain accounts.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the current market, with a track record of successful marketing campaigns targeting chain accounts.
  • Certifications and Training: Any relevant certifications in marketing, sales, or business management would be advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
