Aquabyte is looking for a full-time Director of Marketing to be an important part of the commercial department for increasing the customer base and system volume, both in new segments and within the existing portfolio.

Our mission
Aquabyte is on a mission to revolutionize the sustainability and efficiency of aquaculture. By making fish farming cheaper and more viable than livestock production, we aim to mitigate one of the biggest causes of climate change and help prepare our planet for impending population growth. Our product
We are currently focused on helping salmon farmers better understand their fish populations and make environmentally-sound decisions. Through custom underwater cameras, computer vision, and machine learning we are able to quantify fish weights, detect the health status, and generate optimal feeding plans in real time. Our product operates at three levels: on-site hardware for image capture, cloud pipelines for data processing, and a user-facing web application. As a result, there are hundreds of moving pieces and no shortage of fascinating challenges across all levels of the stack.

Our role
Our new Head of Marketing and Communications is an important part of the commercial department and will have the main responsibility for increasing the customer base and system volume, both in new segments and within the existing portfolio. You will execute this through direct and indirect marketing activities and campaigns. An important focus area will be to strengthen the Aquabyte brand through consistent messages when it comes to PR, SoMe, sales presentations, and other relevant channels.
To achieve our ambitious and global goals, we are looking for an experienced and commercially minded person who will be central when we build radically better decision-making systems for aquaculture worldwide. You are strong in communication, both orally and in writing, has good language skills and a sense of form.
The right person will further develop a strong market position and function for global reach, with great opportunities to influence direction. The organization has a flat structure and a culture where you are constantly concerned with thinking out of the box
to come up with the best solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen market position through development and management of marketing activities /campaigns / content marketing / PR.
  • Work both operationally and strategically.
  • Prepare a marketing strategy, and establish annual cycles, activity plan, content etc.
  • Lead and participate in the preparation of visual profile, campaign material,
  • Ensure continuous market and customer insight through surveys and analysis of customer data.
  • Close collaboration with the sales team through interaction on e.g. CRM.
  • Take on the project manager role between Aquabyte and agency partners and suppliers.
  • Contribute to setting priorities in collaboration with Product Managers to continuously ensure further development of a competitive product mix.
  • Ensure commercial department access to promotional materials.
  • Increase lead to deal quality through increased inbound quality.

Qualifications

  • Higher education, preferably in marketing and / or communication.
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience with operational / strategic marketing work and targeted brand building
  • In-depth knowledge of the commercial space of opportunity on social media.
  • Experience with insight and market analysis through surveys and analysis of customer data.
  • Widespread experience with presentations, content marketing and pitching.
  • It is an advantage if you have worked in / against tech environments, preferably from growth companies, preferably within SaaS.
